Test Prep
Grades: 3-8 Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test (FCAT)
Our Test Prep program is designed to help students understand
what they will
be expected to know on the achievement test of state standards.
-
Our program provides practice
activities that are grouped by state standards. When one group
of state standards is completed, the student takes a
Mini-Test.
-
After an
entire set of standards and the accompanying activities are
completed, the student takes a Final Test.
-
The
Final Test has a separate answer sheet that mimics the style of
the
answer sheet the students will use on the state tests.
The Test Prep program is designed to help students identify
areas in which
they are proficient and areas where they still need more
practice. This
program helps relieve test anxiety and raises test scores.
Grade: 10 Florida
Comprehensive Achievement Test (FCAT)
Our Test Prep program contains a pretest and a post-test that mirror
the format of the actual Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test (FCAT).
Diagnostic correlation charts determine student strengths and
weaknesses and reference the lessons targeted for remediation. Test
Prep is available for reading and math. The reading lessons are
presented in a three-step format that helps build student endurance.
In step one, students are presented an instructional lesson, along
with two sample questions. This instructional lesson uses shorter,
lower-level reading passages. Step two is written at a slightly
higher reading level and provides longer reading passages with less
instruction and more practice. The final step provides a full-length
passage and questions that reinforce the standards addressed in the
lesson.

modeled instruction on sample problems. Students are provided
instruction on how to work two to four practice problems in step
two. The final step contains formatted practice problems for the
students.
Because each pretest and posttest
mirrors the format of the actual test, students will become familiar
and comfortable with the test format, which helps relieve test
anxiety and raise test scores.
